"New Choice" Mongolian Volunteer Organization organizes a number of two-week Summer Camp programs. The Summer Camps in Mongolia are specially designed to be thorough English teaching, renovation, construction and conversation programs. The basic activities for this volunteer work include teaching basic English and speaking English to 7-16 year old kids in an every day environment that difference from their regular school hours and home. In many programs local villagers and volunteers will work with international volunteers in the Summer Camps. Approximately 5-10 international volunteers from different countries will work and stay together. This program is ideal for college and university students but is open to anyone with an adventurous soul. There are six work camps available for 2004; the begins 16th of June, 1st and 16th of July and 1st of August 2004 Volunteers
can join Summer Camp from 14 days to 30 days depending up on time availability. Also they could visit to the opening ceremony “Naadam” festival. The Naadam is held for 3 days each summer in Ulaanbaatar, and starts on the 11th of July. There are several alternative Naadams held in the capitals of different aimags (provinces) - some on different dates. Mongolia is administratively split up into 21 aimags and 3 cities. Every aimag is divided into smaller sums. For the two
weeks that you are volunteering in Mongolia, you will live in a wooden
house /cabin/ with other volunteers and Mongolian teachers and teach them
the beauty of English language. Food is usually provided on a campus condition,
eating at certain time; 3 times a day, except tea-breaks of yogurt or
milk but all the members will share the responsibility of cleaning - usually
on a Rote basis. Each local organization will provide on one or two coordinators
to help run the project. Volunteers will help to Mongolian teachers to
organize some activities like as sports; concert performances; arts and
